Transliteration

Transliteration is the rendering Arabic words phonetically into Roman characters. For example, الكَمَال àal-kamāl, طَيَّارة àṭayyārah. To render the transliteration more effective the vocalization is also expressed (if not we would have a confusing al-kmāl or ṭyārah). Transliterated text, except for proper nouns, must be italicized.
