- The hardware at SOAS only needs ‘Arabic keyboard stickers’- there is no other update necessary. If you are using your own laptop you can alternatively write the Arabic letters with a white marker or correction pen. This is the layout of the common Arabic-101 keyboard:
- Most of the websites listed below also have an onscreen keyboard. There is generally a small keyboard icon next to the search pane which you need to click on for the onscreen keyboard to be enlarged. However, if you are going to pursue research in this field, I would highly recommend learning the Arabic 101 keyboard. There are also very simple online tools, discussed in the software section below, for inputting text in Arabic that do not require any installations.
